Tom Wright became Chief Executive of the British Tourist Authority on 1st August 2002 and is Chief Executive of Visit Britain.

Tom joined BTA from the Saga Group where he has been Managing Director of Saga Holidays and a Group Board Director since 1999. Before joining Saga he worked for Center Parcs as Sales and Marketing Director in the UK, then as Sales, Marketing and Development Director for Belgium, Holland and Germany, based in Rotterdam. Previously he has held sales, marketing and product development positions in Carlsberg-Tetley, Anchor Foods and United Biscuits.

He holds an honours degree in Business Studies, as well as specialist qualifications in marketing and market research from the Institute of Marketing and the Market Research Society. He is a member of the Institute of Directors.

Tom is forty and married with a three year old daughter. He was born in London and educated in Wiltshire and London. Among his hobbies he lists walking and running in the British countryside, attending sporting events, skiing and golf..
